Doesn’t it bothers you to have to install a program just to view one type of file that you really don’t often use and it may be wasting computer resources? Did you know that Chrome 6 has native support to view PDF files on the web? -No extra software needed.

This is great! But by default this option is disabled. Well, in this brief article we are going to learn how to enable PDF support in Google Chrome 6.

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. In the address bar type chrome://plugins
  3. You will notice that the first Plugin is Chrome PDF Viewer and it is gray-out with a link that says Enable, click this link to enable the plugin and that is all there is to it.

Note: It should not be necessary to restart Google Chrome after you enable plugins.

4  Enjoy viewing PDF files in the web with not extra software necessary!

TIP: Sometimes it could be hard to remember website URLs, location settings, etc. So, now it would be a good time to bookmark the chrome://plugins page in the case you need to come back in the future.

I hope this info was useful, remember to leave a comment in the section below. Thanks!
