Windows 8 early DVD box artwork designs unveiled

Whether you choose to get Windows 8 Pro or the core version of the operating system, today if you step into a retail store you’ll find five new stylish with vibrant colors packaging that Microsoft has introduced to bundle the Windows 8 installation DVD.

What you may not know is that there was a group of people from Germany, who were responsible for the artwork designs that you see in the new boxes. For these works of art Microsoft asked CATK (COLORS AND THE KIDS) to create the colorful and unique shapes that resembles to the new Windows 8 user-interface that now is seen by millions around the world.

To capture the essence of the new “reimagined” operating system, CATK provided many drawing which encase the new product. Not every image made it to the final project, but there will be many people who will agree that all should be available. Although that isn’t the case, at least today you can see the early concepts and the final images for the Windows 8 DVD boxes in the gallery below:
