April Xbox One update rolls out with Kinect improvements and friend notifications

Xbox One April update

Microsoft rolls out new Xbox One update bringing highly requested feature, that is friend notifications. Now every time one of your friends or a person from your favorite list connects to Xbox Live, you’ll receive a notification — If you also own an Xbox 360, this will feel very familiar.

The April update for Xbox One also brings improvements to Kinect. In the latest update users will notice voice and motion improvements. It isn’t clear the specifics, but the company says that some gestures functionality has been updated. Also Xbox One owners will hopefully have better Kinect voice commands response with this new update.

The April update for Xbox One consoles also fixes the Stereo Headset audio static issue. There is also a new user-interface change that will help alter users when games and apps have been updated.

Finally the European markets will get Blu-ray support with 50Hz video output. And Microsoft also added a tweak to allow Xbox One owners to manually trigger a manual update.

Game changer update? No, but it is good to see how Microsoft is delivering fast updates to improve the platform. Now we will have to wait until the next update…
