It’s become a tradition of Microsoft to push new updates for Xbox One every month, and November is no different. In the next update, users can expect a lot of focus on personalization and customization of both the profile and dashboard, with new features including custom backgrounds, Twitter integration, new TV and Xbox Live profile features, and changes on Internet Explorer.
Xbox’s Phil Spencer recently announced that theme and background pictures were among the features coming to Xbox One. Now, we know the feature will be included in the November update. Once the update releases, you’ll be able to use your preferred color using Achievement Arts, and in a later update, you’ll be able to use the Media Player app to set any image as background.
For gamer profiles, Microsoft is bringing back Location and Bio settings (part of Xbox 360), making the profile much richer. The Xbox Live profile will also feature a new showcase section for Xbox One owners to highlight game clips or achievements they have accomplished.
Deeper integration with Twitter is coming in this November update for Xbox. After linking your Twitter profile with your Xbox Live account, you will be able to discover what shows to watch from what’s trending on Twitter and Tweet your favorite Xbox One game DVR clips for your followers to see. Remember that this is an optional feature so that you won’t spam your followers; as such, you’ll see a share option for the clips you have recorded.
On the TV front, the Xbox team is adding recent and favorite channels to the MiniGuide, and there is also a new “What’s on” section on the dashboard with content curated from staff picks that you might be interested in watching when you’re not playing games from YouTube, trending TV in your area, and Twitch broadcasts.
Finally, Internet Explorer gets a little tweaked so you can easily snap the browser using an option from the address bar. Users without Kinect will find this new change more useful.
