This week we have seen a number of leaked screenshots claiming to reveal how Spartan, the new Microsoft’s web browser, looks like in its early stages. Today, CnBeta once again has manage to acquire yet another internal Microsoft concept with a more clear view of Spartan and parts of Windows 10, we haven’t seen before.
First, the image is a concept design, but it does represent what Microsoft is building for Windows 10 consumer preview.
The new screenshot shows the same dark theme, we’ve seen in the previous image that mimics the Windows Phone UI. However, dark does not necessarily mean black; the new screenshot shows that the taskbar will keep changing colors, but only to dark levels. If you recall, when Windows 10 build 9901 leaked, we saw the same dark elements.
This particular concept design also reveals a menu button on the top-left corner of the screen, element that we didn’t see in previous screenshots.
Also, it seems that Microsoft could be working on redesigning the desktop icons and shortcuts, as you can clearly see on the desktop new icons that look like mini tiles with the title on the right side and solid backgrounds. This particular screenshot shows the Recycle Bin, Dropbox, and eBay shortcut.
Although, the image is a concept design, it does provide an early look at what Microsoft is aiming for the final UI for Windows 10. However, it does not represent the final interface, as the company will be tweaking the elements a number of times before the public release.
As for features on Spartan, we already heard of Microsoft working to bring Cortana to replace Bing in the web browser. Inking will also be supported to allow users to annotate web pages and share them using OneDrive, and a new way to group tabs is in the works.
