It’s been nearly 10 years and Microsoft plans to keep updating its Xbox 360, so much that the company will launch in March the “Xbox 360 Preview” program that will let users try new improvements and features before anyone else. Like the Xbox One Preview program, Microsoft will send invites to selected customers to sign-up to the program directly from the dashboard.
Selected users will get an Xbox Live message with the invite, then users can go to Settings / Account / Account Management, and then lucky individuals will see the “Xbox 360 Preview Registration” to enroll their console.
What’s coming in the first Xbox 360 preview? On the first preview, Microsoft is tackling and improving how users troubleshoot common network problems and adding a Network Connectivity test including Download and Upload speed tests.
The software maker promises more changes throughout the year.
March Xbox One and Xbox 360 free games with Gold
Additionally, the company now is allowing Xbox 360 owners to start building their own Xbox One game library directly from the 360’s dashboard.
All you need is an Xbox Live Gold subscription, then from an Xbox 360, you can claim all the free games offered by the company via the monthly free games with Gold program. (Now, I would also like to see Microsoft implementing the same feature in Xbox One. I own both consoles, I would like to claim my Xbox 360 game from my Xbox One dashboard.)
The tactic is obvious here, even though it’s easier for Xbox 360 owners to claim games, Microsoft strategy is to tempt users into upgrading into its Xbox One.
