Windows 10 won’t require a paid Xbox Live subscription for online gaming

Xbox Live for Windows 10 will not cost a dime to for online multiplayer gaming.

Xbox Live experience in Windows 10

Microsoft is focusing not only on making Windows 10 great for work, but for gaming too, as the company has already announced that it will be bringing the Xbox Live experience to Windows 10 PCs and phones. The surprise is that Microsoft will also offer online multiplayer gaming using its gaming services, all at no extra cost.

Larry Hryb, also known as Microsoft’s Major Nelson, has stated on Twitter that Xbox Live on Windows 10 will be free. “Xbox Live Gold will not be required for online multiplayer gaming using our service on Windows 10 PCs and Phones.”.

The software giant has tried to monetize on PC gaming with Games for Windows Live before, but the service failed to gain any attraction among PC gamers, because of the pricing and bugs on games and features.

However, now we clearly see a Microsoft that wants to come back to gaming on PCs and phones, but seeing that the company has serious competition with services, such as Steam, GOG, Origin, and others that also offer great gaming experiences and free of charge. It’s not surprising that the software maker will also offer free online gaming to Windows 10 users.
