Surface Pro 3, Microsoft demo New York City event 2014

Officially launched on June 20, 2014, Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 is nothing short of a success. This tablet showed revenue to the company, instead of a write-off like it happened with Surface RT back in 2013.

While we’re ready to hear about the Surface Pro 4, the successor, the company seems not to be ready to unveil any details. Instead, the company is now adding a new model to the Surface Pro 3 range.

Since launch, there have been five different models: the Intel Core i3 with 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM ($799). Then there is the Core i5 with 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM ($999), the Intel Core i5 with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM ($1299), the Intel Core i7 with 256GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM ($1549), and the Intel Core i7 featuring 512GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM ($1999).

Now there is a new entry-level, high-end Intel Core i7 with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM with a price tag of $1299. This is the same price as the Core i5 model with the same storage capacity and RAM but a more powerful processor.
