Universal Messaging app might arrive in the next Windows 10 preview build

Microsoft likely to include the first public preview of the new Messaging app in the next Windows 10 Insider Preview build.

Windows 10 Messaging app powered by Skype

We know for a very long time that Microsoft is working on a new Messaging app that will use Skype in the back-end to allow users to chat and SMS texts from the new universal app for both the desktop and mobile version of Windows 10.

The Messaging app should have been released with Windows 10 back in July, but the app was nowhere to be found.

Apparently, the company simply couldn’t meet the deadline, then we heard a new Summer deadline, where Microsoft was supposed to release a version of the messaging app through the Insider builds, but that didn’t happen either. Now, we’re expecting the company to release the new universal messaging app with the Windows 10 Threshold 2, which is likely to roll out in November.

However, there is a new rumor that suggests that Microsoft is preparing to introduce an early version of the Messaging app in the next Windows 10 Insider Preview build, before it’s releases to everyone.

Now, when a new build will release to Insiders? Well, that’s something to be seen, early this week Microsoft said that no new build will roll out before October 6, which is when the company plans to host the Windows 10 devices event in New York City, and plans to introduce the new Surface Pro 4, new Lumia phones, Microsoft Band 2, and it would not be a big surprise if Microsoft demos some of the new changes coming in Threshold 2. Perhaps, we might even see a demo of the new Messaging app.

In the next build of Windows 10, we might also see improvements on Microsoft Edge, such as the new Tab preview, which we have seen on demos but not on Insider’s builds.
