How to bring back the old New Tab Page in Chrome

Enable Instant Extended API Chrome

Keeping with the rapid releases, Google recently rolled out Chrome version 29, among changes and improvements the company also introduced a refreshed New Tab Page.

The new tap features Google’s daily doodle, search box, and a list of the most visited websites. Although, this new change aims to make the search experience a little better, for what I’m hearing the new renovation is more annoying than helpful. As such, I want to share a simple tip that will bring back the old “New Tab Page”, which only features the last eight web pages you frequently visit.

Instructions

1. While in Chrome go to chrome://flags

2. Use the Ctrl+F keyboard shortcut to bring page search and look for Enable Instant Extended API and disable the option.

3. Relaunch the web browser and now the old New Tab Page should be restored.
