Cumulative update KB3194798 rolls out for Windows 10 version 1607

Windows 10 version 1607 gets cumulative update KB3194798 and brings several fixes and improvements for PC and Mobile.

Microsoft is releasing cumulative update KB3194798 as part of another Patch Tuesday. The company is rolling out the update for PC and Mobile with a number of fixes that bumps Windows 10 to build 14393.321.

According to the company, update KB3194798, addresses a number of issues, including fast battery drain issue and high processor usage on Windows 10 Mobile, and sign-in errors and app installation problems on Windows 10.

New fixes and improvement for Windows 10 build 14393.321

Here’s the complete list of changes for the new Patch Tuesday for Windows 10 version 1607:

  • Improved reliability of Bluetooth and storage file system.
  • Fixed issue causing printer drivers to not install correctly.
  • Addressed issue causing sign-in errors if a password is entered incorrectly or a new password doesn’t meet password complexity requirements.
  • Fixed problem that required users to logout and log back in before using the application they installed using the Windows installer (MSI).
  • Addressed issues with multimedia playback, revised daylight saving time, authentication, Internet Explorer 11, and Windows Shell.
  • Improved support for networks by adding new entries to the Access Point Name (APN) database.
  • Fixed problem that was causing excessive battery drain on Windows 10 Mobile when connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Addressed issue in which setting up both fingerprint and iris recognition sometimes causes the sign-in to fail on Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Fixed issue that was causing high CPU usage on Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, Windows registry, and diagnostics hub.

Alongside the new update for version 1607, Microsoft is also releasing KB3192441 for version 1511, and KB3192440 for the initial release of Windows 10 with new fixes and improvements.

Windows 10 build 14393.321 (KB3194798) for PC and Mobile is available immediately. The new update will download and install automatically, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button.
