OneDrive - One place for everything in your life

OneDrive app for Windows 10 now on Xbox One

Xbox One ditches old OneDrive app for the new modern version available on Windows 10.

Although Xbox One included a OneDrive app for a long time, it was a different and very limited app than the one you get on Windows 10. However, now Microsoft is bringing its new Windows 10’s OneDrive app to Xbox One.

With this new app, you’ll be able to access your photos and videos, as well as files you stored in the cloud.

First spotted by MSPoweruser, the new OneDrive app for Xbox One offers virtually the same experience as the one for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, but with a few additional tweaks and limitations due to the fact that you’ll be using the app on a game console without keyboard and mouse.

According to the changelog, this is what’s new:

  • Access all your OneDrive files on Xbox, not just your photos and videos, view and change your files.
  • Enjoy the improvements to camera upload.
  • Bug fixes.

However, Microsoft still recommends the Photos app on Xbox to see all of your OneDrive photos and videos on the big screen.

The new version is rolling out now, and it’ll be available in the “ready to install” section, as you won’t just be able to get it from Store.
