Surface Studio was first unveiled during the Microsoft press event in New York City, where the company started taking pre-orders on that same October 26th. However, the software giant noted that at the beginning, the all-in-one computer, will be only available in limited quantities.
Initially, those who began pre-ordering were expecting to see shipment going out on December 15th. But the Surface Studio quickly went out of stock in the Microsoft Store, and due to the high demand, now it seems that Microsoft will be delaying the release date until “early 2017”.
Surface Studio release date has changed
Although “early 2017” and the original December 15th release date should not be too far apart, the new shipping date makes it unclear if customers will have to wait weeks or month before they receive their Surface Studio.
The good news is that Surface Studio is back in the Microsoft Store, and if you pre-order now, you’ll also be getting the Surface Dial. Typically, this is an optional accessory that cost $100, but you’ll get it free during the pre-order.
You can choose from three Surface Studio configurations, including:
- Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and 2GB of graphics memory for $2999
- Intel Core i7, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and 2GB of graphics memory for $3499
- Intel Core i7, 32GB of RAM, 2TB of storage, and 4GB of graphics memory for $4199
