Xbox One gets Verizon FiOS TV app with up to 74 channels of live TV

Verizon FiOS app for Xbox One now available for download

Today is a good day for Xbox One owners currently subscribed to Verizon FiOS since the cable and internet service provider company has just released its FiOS Live TV app for Xbox One. The app allows FiOS subscribers to stream up to 74 channels of live TV, depending subscriber’s package, without connecting the cable box to the game console. The app is available for download beginning today for all Xbox Live Gold members.

According to Microsoft the Verizon FiOS app also includes voice commands and gestures using Kinect, and users can also enjoy watching live TV and playing games with the Snap feature in Xbox One.

Although, many people would be thinking on saying goodbye to the cable box once and for all, this is just the beginning. The Verizon FiOS app for Xbox One is very basic and live TV is the only thing subscribers can do, you cannot schedule a DVR recording or watch video on-demand.
