Windows 10 build 15055

Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 15055 for PC and mobile devices enrolled in the Fast ring. The new rollout is a minor update that doesn’t include any features, as the company is currently focused on finalizing the operating system for the mid-April rollout.

However, Windows 10 build 15055, brings a slew of bug fixes and improvements for both PC and Mobile, and a few known issues that you should be aware before installing.

What’s new on Windows 10 build 15055 for PC

In this new Creators Update test preview, Microsoft Edge is getting a lot of fixes, some of which include fixes for the context menu when correcting grammar, “Cast media to device” feature, and closing multiple tabs. On multiple monitors setups, the browser now includes a fix for flickering and rendering issues when pressing the Hub button, and much more.

Installing build 15055 should no longer fail like in previous releases, this flight also fixes rendering problems on multi-monitor setups, and thumbnail previews should no longer appear unexpectedly blank. Microsoft also fixed an issue for certain USB-powered monitors where the taskbar clock would sometimes stop rendering for a few minutes.

Additionally, this flight fixes high percent processor usage on OneDrive, devices should now be discoverable using Bluetooth & Other Devices settings, and more.

As for known issues on Windows 10 build 15055, some apps and games may crash, there is a bug trying to reboot your PC causing restart reminders not to show up, and in certain hardware configuration gaming broadcast may not work as expected.

If you’re using a Surface Pro 3, installing Windows 10 build 15055 will fail if there is a SD card inserted.

What’s new on Windows 10 Mobile build 15055

Microsoft is also rolling build 15055 for Mobile devices with only a few improvements, including a fix for volume control using Groove Music. There are a few improvements with speech, and there is a fix for Cortana speech interactions.

On Windows 10 Mobile build 15055, there aren’t significant known issues, but there is a bug that causes background tasks to not run in the background like they should such as OneDrive camera roll sync feature.

If your device experiences an unexpected reboot, in some cases you may lose your call, text, and email history may be lost.

There is a bug in this build that can cause a number of inbox apps to fail to launch. In this flight, unfortunately, there is no workaround to reset the Store.

And some users are still reporting that pages are constantly reloading or refreshing, especially while they are in the middle of scrolling them in Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft is listing the complete set of fixes and known issues for build 15055 at the Windows Blog. In case you missed it, here are all the new changes introduced in the last flight (Windows 10 build 15048).
