Xbox Video app arrives to Windows Phone 8, but no HD streaming

Xbox Video app for Windows Phone 8

Ahead of the Windows Phone 8.1 update, Microsoft releases today the Xbox Video app for Windows Phone. The app, which is available for download now from the Windows Phone Store, offers the ability for users to buy and stream movies and TV shows from the video service. Furthermore, users can download content before watching, a really useful feature when traveling and there isn’t access to the internet or for those who have a cap on their internet service.

Additionally, content from the Xbox Video service that you already purchased or rented from your Windows 8.1 PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and from other devices will be automatically accessible for your to stream on your phone. The drawback though is that Windows Phone 8 handsets won’t be able to stream the content HD, but if you resume watching a video on your PC or game console the rest of the video will stream in HD.
