As Windows XP will see the end of support on April 8th, Microsoft keeps trying to get customers to switch over to Windows 8.1, while boosting PC sales. In a new promotion spotted in the online Microsoft Store, the company is giving away a $50 gift card for those who buy a new Windows 8.1 device (PC or tablet) from a pre-selected list of items.
Not only customers will get the $50 reward, but the company’s website also states that it will provide 90 days of free support via phone or chat, and it’s also “bundling” the free data transfer software, which is already free for anyone using Windows XP wanting to move to Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Among the group of selected products, you’ll find: ASUS VivoBook X200CA-9BCT Touchscreen Laptop for $279.99, Dell Venue 8 Pro ($229) and the Dell Venue 11 Pro ($499) tablets, All-in-one HP ENVY Rove 20-k121us Touchsmart for $699, and many more.
The new promotional offer isn’t permanent, it’s a limited time offer valid from March 6th until April 30th, 2014, or while supplies last. For more information visit the online Microsoft Store.
