File manager app for Windows Phone 8.1 now available for download

Files app for Windows Phone 8.1

As promised the file manager app for Windows Phone 8.1 is finally ready for download from the Windows Phone Store. The free app is simply called “Files” and it allows users to manage files inside the phone’s memory and external SD card.

You can browse files and folders, open and search for files inside of the phone or SD card storage. You can also create new folders and you can copy or move files across folders. Of course you can delete and rename files as well. As a plus, Files for Windows Phone 8.1 lets you share one or multiple files on your phone with other people too.

Keep in mind that Files is only available for Windows Phone 8.1, which currently it’s only in preview form. To install the app you either have to wait until Microsoft releases the Windows Phone 8.1 update, have one of the new Lumia 630 headsets, or you can install the Windows Phone 8.1 update preview in your phone.
