While we wait for Microsoft to unveil Windows 9 next week, a new Windows Technical Preview for Enterprise went accidentally live on Microsoft’s servers showing “Windows TH” naming. Though, I don’t think this is the name for “Windows 9”, we can simply assume it stands for “Windows Threshold” — the current codename for the operating system.
“The next version of the Windows client operating system” the site details – Along with some of the reasons why enterprises need to upgrade:
- Defend against modern security threats
- Elevate employee productivity
- Embrace the mobile and cloud era
- Enable upgrade without upheaval
While Microsoft is expected to uncover what they’ve been working for the next version of Windows, the software giant is highly likely not to release a preview for everyone to download, instead we’ll have to wait until sometime in October.

It’s worth noting that you cannot download the early bits of “Windows 9” at this moment, as all the links don’t work. But this shows us an early sneak peek on what Microsoft is working to get enterprises to download and move to a newer operating system.
