Microsoft to reveal Windows 10 Consumer Preview in late January

Windows 10 Technical Preview running on Surface Pro 3

Microsoft will reveal the Consumer Preview of Windows 10 at an event in late January. According to a new report from The Verge, sources familiar to the plan claim that Microsoft will present the consumer feature of Windows 10 during a press event. While the software giant will be participating at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in early January, the company will unveil what’s coming in the Windows 10 Consumer Preview on a separate event.

Windows 10 was first unveiled back in September, but the event aimed to show enterprises how the next operating system can help businesses be more productive. But in the next event, Microsoft is expected to show-off more significant changes and new features coming to Windows focus on consumers.

Among the features we’re expecting for the company to show the new Continuum mode that will make it easier for 2-in-1 devices to switch from a desktop to a touch-optimized user-interface. Also there will be details about a version of Windows 10 for Windows Phone and tablets, and Microsoft probably will share some information about a new dashboard update for Xbox One.

Microsoft has yet to officially announce the Windows 10 for consumer’s event, and we could start hearing from the company sometime in December.
