Watch Joe Belfiore unveiling the new Windows 10 experiences for consumers (video)

This is a big week for Microsoft as the company is showing off all the new changes and improvements it is doing, not only in Windows 10, but also for the new version of Windows 10 for phones and small tablets.

In a new video uploaded to the Windows channel in YouTube titled “Windows 10: A New Generation of Windows”, Joe Belfiore, from the Windows Team talks and shows all the new features and experiences users can expect in the next release of Windows.

“Windows 10 is a particularly special release of Windows”, Joe says, while showing off Cortana on the desktop and making annotations to a web page using the Spartan web browser.

The video also showcases the improvements in the Start menu and the Continuum mode for hybrid devices. The company also explains that is making Windows 10 a free upgrade for customers running Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8.1, and Windows 7 just to get everyone to the “latest and greatest” version of Windows they will love.

With Windows 10 also come the new universal apps like Office, Outlook, Photos, and many more that will run on every platform including Xbox One. The company notes that Office will come pre-installed on phones and smaller tablets, and desktop users will be able to get the apps (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) through the Windows Store.

The video continues showing off project Spartan, the new Microsoft’s web browser, and its three unique features: digital ink to annotate web pages and share them online through OneDrive, Cortana integration, and Reading List with PDF support.

Finally the video showcasing the new generation of Windows demos the new Photo apps, the new Xbox experiences coming to Windows 10, such as playing Xbox One games on your PC and streaming Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC.
