Microsoft Band 2 reportedly being tested and it could release later this year

Microsoft is reportedly working on the Microsoft Band 2 and it could be announced as early as June.

Microsoft Band on wrist

The Microsoft Band is nothing short of a success, the fitness band hasn’t been out a year and it has been out of stock pretty much half of the time. Now, today the word in the street is that the software giant is already working on its successor: the Microsoft Band 2, and it’s reportedly already being tested internally.

A new report from WinFuture claims that the company is building a successor of the fitness band, with a prototype currently being tested in Europe. The report for the same website also says that Microsoft is planning to announce the device as early as June of this year. However, no specific date has been detailed or which new features will be available for the Microsoft Band 2.

I’m personally not surprised of Microsoft moving this quickly to a second version of the Band. Although, Microsoft’s concept of the fitness band is fantastic, there has been many reports from users claiming that the band isn’t durable and breaks quite easily, as you can see in the Tweets below.

Keep in mind that while this rumor is strong, the company has officially announced that is working on a second version of the Band.

You can buy a current version of the Microsoft Band in Amazon, Best Buy, Microsoft Store, and various other retail stores. If you’re getting the fitness band, make sure to invest by purchasing the protection plan.
