IFA 2016 — Acer is unveiling a number of new Windows 10 PCs, including the Swift 7 super thin laptop, the Spin 7 2-in-1 convertible, and the Predator 21 X, which is the first laptop with a curved display, as well as Predator 15 and 17 running Windows 10.
The Swift 7 and Spin 7 are less than three pounds and very thin ready to tackle any task running Windows 10. Then the Predator 21 X is a laptop with a curved display and eye-tracking hardware to introduce a new gaming experience.
The Swift 7 is a very thin and lightweight 13.3-inch laptop only weighing 2.48 pounds and measuring .39-inch thin. It comes in black and gold colors with a very sturdy aluminum unibody design.
The display features a micro-bezel design, it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance, and the company claims up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The Swift 7 laptop is powered by Intel’s 7th generation processors, up to Core i5, 256GB of storage, and up to 8GB of memory. There is also dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports and HD webcam with HDR (High Dynamic Range) for better image during video chat. And a 13.3-inch IPS2 display sporting a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution.
Acer Swift 7 is available in October and pricing starts at $999.
The Spin 7 is a convertible device that only weighs 2.6 pounds and measures .43-inch thick. It’s a 13-inch device featuring a 14-inch display with aluminum unibody design with matte black finish and polished silver hinges and diamond cut edges around the corners. And the company claims up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The Spin 7 features Intel’s 7th generation processors, up to Core i7, up to 8GB of memory, and 256B of storage. The 14-inch IPS display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass and super narrow bezel. And there are also dual 3.1 USB Type-C ports for fast data transfers.
The Spin 7 is available in October and pricing starts at $1299.
The Predator 21 X is the first Windows 10 laptop with a curved display and Tobii eye-tracking technology and hardware for a more immersive gaming experience. Perhaps, it’s also the heaviest laptop available in the market at 17.6 pounds.
The Predator 21 X features Intel’s 7th generation Kady Lake processors and 2 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics in SLI with 5 cooling fans. The 21-inch IPS display comes with a 2560 x 1080-pixel resolution and is G-Sync enabled.
In addition, the laptop sports a full-sized mechanical keyboard with CherryMX switches with customizable RGB backlight settings for each key.
SoundPound2+, 3-way audio, and Dolby audio.
Furthermore, the numeric pad flips around, which you can turn into a precision touchpad.
The Acer Predator 21 X doesn’t have a release date or pricing.
Along with the 21 X, Acer has also announced the Predator 15 and 17 gaming laptops running Windows 10. These laptops share the same design as the Predator 21 X, but they are smaller devices at 15-inch and 17-inch respectively. And they feature Nvidia graphics up to GeForce GTX 1070, and as the 21 X both laptops come VR ready.
The Predator 15 and Predator 17 are available starting September and pricing starts at $1699.
