Adobe is not really offering Creative Suite 2 download for free

It was all a misunderstanding. Many people were happy (me included) to hear the news yesterday that Adobe was offering CS2 downloads for free — that still true today, but not in the way we all thought it was–.

According to a new article at The Windows Club, we all heard it wrong says Dov Isaacs, Adobe Systems Incorporated spokesperson:

Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2! What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2, and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available.   You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!

This still good for those customers who previously bought the software and need to reinstall Photoshop, but I am sure that there are many users really disappointed by how Adobe went promoting the offer. Because if this was the company’s intention all along, they should have been more specific about it, in the download page before registering.
