Google recently rolled out Chrome OS version 53 preview for Chromebooks, and among all the new changes and improvements, the company is also bringing the Google Play Store to the new version of the operating system.
Thanks to the Google Play integration, Chromebook users can finally download and use the same Android apps you run on your phone. For example, apps like Skype and Office, and games like Minecraft.
While this is a great news for many users, there is one caveat. Google won’t be supporting every Chrome OS device ever made. This is primarily because of hardware restrictions from older devices, but fortunately, the list of devices that supports Android apps is very extensive. Even more exciting, Google will also be supporting Chromeboxes and Chromebases.

The company says that Android apps will be available for everyone between June and July 2016. In addition, Google notes that is testing a number of other devices to bring the Google Play Store to more devices. Currently, Google says it’s testing two more Chromebooks, including the Acer Chromebook R11 / C738T and the Google Chromebook Pixel (2015).
