So problem is that I’ve lost my recovery drive. I made a new one but it’s not working and when I bought my PC windows 8 was already on it. Help?

hi there. im trying to perform step 3 but cant seem to find my install.wim file. my lenovo laptop came with windows 8 n never got any recovery drive or cd. help!!

Finally. After all of the searching, I find a solution that WORKS! It took step three to correct the issue, but it fixed it like champ.Thank you, Mauro.

Instead of using valuable time trying to refresh your PC, you can try making a backup of your data and trying a clean install.

I personally always use a clean installation over anything else.

Hello, I have tried all the steps you’ve listed here for windows 8 missing files during “Refresh” but it doesn’t work. I have to go get an installation disk but still doesn’t work. Please, is there anything else I can do? Thanks
