KB4103721 update for Windows 10 version 1803 releases

Windows 10 update KB4103721 (build 17134.48) releases

If you're running the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, a new update is rolling out to address some of the issues with the version.

As part of Patch Tuesday for May 2018, Microsoft is now rolling out update KB4103721 for devices running the Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) to address a few issues with the latest release.

KB4103721 bumps the build number to 17134.48, and according to the company, it only addresses a few issues related to App-V, VPN, time zone, Remote Desktop, and patches some security vulnerabilities.

Unfortunately, the update doesn’t make any mention that the update fixes recently reported problems, such as the freezing issue with Google Chrome and Cortana, or graphics problems with certain Dell computers.

Alongside this update, KB4103727 is also rolling out for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update fixing several problems with that version.

What’s new with Windows 10 build 1 build 17134.48

Microsoft has announced KB4103721 in the Windows support site, and it’s referred as “May 8, 2018—KB4103721 (OS Build 17134.48)”. If you’re already running the Windows 10 April 2018 Update on your PC, this update will address these problems:

  • Addresses an issue with the April 2018 Windows Servicing update that causes App-V Scripts (User Scripts) to stop working.
  • Fixes problem that prevents certain VPN apps from working on builds of Windows 10, version 1803. These apps were developed using an SDK version that precedes Windows 10, version 1803, and use the public RasSetEntryProperties API.
  • Addresses additional issues with updated time zone information.
  • Fixes problem that may cause an error when connecting to a Remote Desktop server. For more information, see CredSSP updates for CVE-2018-0886.
  • Security updates to Windows Server, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft scripting engine, Windows app platform and frameworks, Windows kernel, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows storage and filesystems, HTML help, and Windows Hyper-V.
