The rumor has it Microsoft is bringing back the Start button in Windows 8.1 (Blue)

Start button in Windows 8.1

Windows 8 reimagined backfires Microsoft, take it with a grain of salt, but new information coming from Mary Jo Foley, a very reliable Microsoft watcher from ZDNet, is reporting that the software giant isn’t just bringing boot-to-desktop option, but it could also be considering bringing back the Start button in Windows 8.1 (Blue).

Mary also emphasizes that the Start button still a rumor and “until it ships, anything can change” one of her anonymous sources said. Microsoft is expected to release Windows 8.1 by August 2013, but we should have better understanding what actually will be coming in the upgrade in the first public preview of Windows Blue due at the end of June during BUILD 2013 Developer Conference.

Keep in mind that Microsoft bringing back the Start button, does not necessarily means that the Start Menu is coming back as well. However, if the company continues responding to users requests, then anything is possible.

What is your take? Would you bring back the Start menu and the boot-to-desktop options back to the OS?
