NASA’s latest satellite, Suomi NPP, has taken a very high-resolution image of the “Blue Marble” (Earth), which could be considered one of the most beautiful image that we have of our planet. The image is available for everyone to download in 8000×8000 pixel resolution — Yeah! It is going to take a little while to download, but it will be time well spent.

The new satellite purpose is to gather images of the Earth, help to improve weather predictions, keep track of natural disasters, and also to help us understand climate changes.

This particular image that NASA has released was created using many images of Earth taken on January 4, 2012.
