Microsoft has just announced a new update to make Office apps more productive in Apple products, and now the company confirms that Office 2016 for the desktop version of Windows will roll out on September 22nd.
While we have previously heard the news back in August, Microsoft is now officially revealing that Office 2016 for desktop is launching before the end of September.
The new version of Office represents a major upgrade, but it’s actually a major upgrade with minor changes. Some of the new features include real-time editing with different people, new design themes, and various tweaks in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the rest of the apps from the suite.
Perhaps the most noticeable visual change you will see in the new version is the new themes. In Office 2016, each app will get a colorful blue, red, green, and purple theme similar to what you see today in the mobile Office apps for Windows 10 and Mac.
There is also a dark theme for those who like the dark theme in Windows 10, and for those who aren’t very excited about the new colors.
Basically with the new version of Office, Microsoft is trying to bring its suite of apps closer together across platform and build up again.
Alongside the announcement, the software giant also notes that it’s making available new tools and guides to manage and roll out Office at work.
