I know I did! Mail PassView is a small nifty application for Windows (from Windows 98 all the way to Windows 7) that can assist you in the recovery of those forgotten passwords.

  • Windows Live Mail

  • Outlook Express
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000 (POP3 and SMTP Accounts only).
  • Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003/2007/2010 (POP3, IMAP, HTTP and SMTP Accounts).
  • Hotmail/MSN mail – If the password is saved in MSN/Windows/Live Messenger application.
  • Gmail – If the password was saved by Gmail Notifier application, Google Desktop, or by Google Talk.
  • Mozilla Thunderbird – If the password is not encrypted with master password.
  • Yahoo! Mail – If the password is saved in Yahoo! Messenger application.
  • IncrediMail
  • Eudora
  • Netscape 6.x/7.x – If the password is not encrypted with master password.
  • Group Mail Free

Additionally Mail PassView will detail other email account information beside the passwords, such as: Account Name, Application of the account, full email address, server address, type of server (POP3, IMAP, SMTP), and the user name. And you can export all the accounts information to a text file or copy to the clipboard.

Note: There is a known problem, some Antivirus programs may detect this utility as if it was infected with Trojan/Virus, but it is not. You can find more information in the download page here.
