That means that your windows installation is not creating backup copies of the registry at that location. This article will not help you, you need to find an alternate method.

That's because Microsoft has never, and doesn't want to, helped us in repairing our computers. If your computer crashes and you can't get it running again, then you go buy a new computer and that's a win for them. That's how their entire business model is built. They actively work against us making backups of our systems and recovering them. To them, helping us do that would just be helping us pirate their software. They don't care if our computers run well or not, all they care is that we keep buying new computers and therefore keep giving them money, that's all that matters to them. The real question is how they got away with that for 40 years and maintain a monopoly on the industry...why do we let them get away with that for 40 years and not go to something else?

In reply to <a href="https://pureinfotech.com/restore-registry-backup-windows-10/#comment-15974">catrachi</a>.

You say "after step 11" but I think you mean "at step 11." That means your Windows installation is not creating any backup files at config/regbackup and so you're out of luck with this method, you'll need to find another method.

The

0 file (s) 0 bytes

means that the "dir" command you just entered found zero files with a total size of zero bytes (of course, since zero files will never have a size other than zero bytes) in the current folder. Check to make sure you're in the correct folder (config/regbackup) when you are doing that command.

The

2 Dir (s) 5xx,xxx,xxx bytes
means that the dir command that you just entered found two folders (aka "dirs") and that your hard disk has 5xxx,xxx,xxx bytes on it (free or total...I forget).
