Google is releasing a web version of its Messages app for Android users, and now, you can send and receive text messages from the comfort of your web browser on your Windows 10 device without having to open your phone.

While many other companies have been trying to offer a similar solution, Google now provides an official and straightforward solution that also offers desktop notifications.

According to Google, using Messages for the web, you’ll be able to send text messages with stickers, emoji, and attach images.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to set up your Windows 10 PC to send texts using Android’s Messages for web free service.

How to send texts using Android Messages from your PC

If you want to send and receive messages using Windows 10 without reaching your Android phone, do the following:

  1. Open Messages for web on your computer.

  2. Allow desktop notifications if prompted.

  3. Turn on the Remember this computer toggle switch.

  4. Open Messages on your phone.

  5. Tap the More options menu.

  6. Select the Messages for web option.

  7. Scan the quick response code that appears in the web browser on your computer.

Once you’ve completed the steps, you’ll be able to use your web browser to send and receive text messages, even with desktop notifications.

Google is slowly rolling out this feature, and even though, you may be able to access the messages, you may need to wait a little longer to get the option in the Messages app on your phone.
