Sometime after Windows 10 version 1909, the sharing of my usb printer stopped working. Ran troubleshooters, unistalled updates, had Microsoft support remote noodling around the system...still nothing. Worked well for years and the only thing that changed was Windows updating. Found articles elsewhere that stated uninstalling certain KB patches helped; others stated to make sure certain network discovery services were enabled; so far, nothing has worked for me.

Windows 10 has been a headache with printer sharing! I used to easily share on the network when my printer was hooked up to a win7, but now its USB on windows 10 and I can't for the life of me get it to work with my window 7 computers on the network. Everything looks right and goes great UNTIL I try to print something and then the queue says spooling and then ERROR - I have no idea what error and all the Print Doctor/ Troubleshooters can't find the problem - sigh

It's only easy until you encounter a problem. Then it's not easy at all. Can't call Microsoft for support. Googling doesn't help. All results are just like this one. Instructions on how to do the same thing that didn't work the other 15 times you tried. My PC is Windows 10 and can print to USB printer attached. Followed instructions to set it as shared. Husbands PC is Windows 10. Every time we try to add the shared printer, it asks for a username and password and neither of our login credentials work. Stuck right there.
