After coming to the market with the Surface Headphones, Microsoft is now reportedly creating a pair of wireless earbuds, which are also expected to carry the Surface brand in some form. According to a new report from Thurrott.com, source familiar to the project, reveal that the software giant is working on a new set of earbuds under the “Morrison” codename to expand its portfolio in the headphone market.
If the device ever becomes available, the Surface earbuds will compete with the popular AirPods from Apple, which are by far one of the best in-ear headphones that offer the right balance between sound quality and price.
It’s said that these earbuds will include Cortana integration and noise cancellation features, and it’s likely that they’ll become available before the end of 2019.
Microsoft first launched the Surface Headphones in 2018 offering a device with unique controls, Cortana integration, noise cancellation, and impressive performance.
Although the Surface buds are the next logical move, the company is about to enter in another saturated market dominated by big names. In addition, it’s expected that even Amazon will soon join with a new pair of wireless earbuds with Alexa integration designed specifically to take on the Apple’s AirPods.
