Surface Laptop (Core i7) in more colors now available for preorder

Microsoft expands color availability of its Surface Laptop in more countries, including for Core i7 models for US customers.

Since Microsoft launched its Surface Laptop featuring the company’s newest edition of its desktop OS, Windows 10 S, consumers were able to pick among four different colors, but only on platinum for the model with Intel’s Core i7 processor.

Then in July, the Microsoft Store quietly began listing the Core i7 model of Surface Laptop in graphite gold, burgundy, and cobalt blue as coming soon. And now, the company is officially announcing that its clamshell laptop with Intel’s Core i7 processor will be available in four different colors in October.

If you’ve been holding out to get a new a Surface Laptop with Core i7 processor in graphite gold, burgundy, and cobalt blue, you can start preordering now at the Microsoft Store in the United States and United Kingdom.

Microsoft also said that is expanding the availability of the new colors in 20 countries, including the United States, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Norway, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition, the Core i7 model is also coming to Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, but only in platinum color.

Alongside the new color expansion, the company is also announcing that it’s extending the free upgrade from Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro for Surface Laptop owners until the end of March 2018. This is a three-month extension from the previous December 2017 deadline, which should allow a lot of customers to avoid the $49 upgrade if they don’t like Windows 10 S.
