The new Microsoft’s Arc Touch Mouse is officially announced

Microsoft is unveiling the Arc Touch Mouse, a new mouse designed for portability, comfort and precision.

Everyday technology surprises with new discoveries, and sometimes we think that older technology, like the mouse, are going to be replaced with some other different technology, well… Today, is not the case! Microsoft is unveiling the Arc Touch Mouse, a new mouse designed for portability, comfort and precision. So, you may think, what is this “Touch” in the name all about? This Microsoft’s first touch scroll strip makes scrolling easier and more comfortable, thanks to a sensing technique and sensor pads, the scroll is more accurate than ever and while scrolling you will feel a hap-tic feedback, a vibration that will make it feel as if you were using a traditional scroll wheel – You only need to slowly move your finger to control scrolling or flick for super fast scrolling and it can be stopped with a simple tap.

Beside the great technology and unique design, the new Arc Touch Mouse was thought for travel. This mouse uses less space in your laptop bag, purse or pocket, as the mouse has the ability to go from curved to a total flatten with the touch of a finger, which also ends up powering the mouse.

The strip has three tap “buttons” for added functionality: page up, page down and the middle click area, which can be customize to meet the user needs. For instance, you can configure a double-tap on the strip to launch Windows 3D Flip.

The mouse seems to play along with other operating systems, like: Mac OS, but as we know, this is Microsoft and the mouse is better suited for a Windows PC.

The Arc Touch Mouse incorporates BlueTrack Technology, that makes possible to use the mouse in almost any surface and it comes with a mini dongle USB transceiver at the bottom of the mouse to connect to your computer. This mouse requires two AAA batteries that gives you about 6 month of battery life, and the two-color battery life indicators to let you know when is the time to change the batteries.

The price that you will have to pay to get your hands in one of the Arc Touch Mouse will be around $69.95 (U.S.). It is available for pre-order now, and it should hit the market in early December.
