The popular messaging service Viber has released a new Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app that anyone can download from the Store. While there was a Viber app for Windows, it was a traditional desktop app that didn’t respond very well to high-DPI display, and it wasn’t a touch-friendly app.
The new Viber app for Windows 10 has the same look and feel as the app for mobile on other devices but now features an easy-to-use and touch-friendly UI that adapts to any screen.
As always, the app allows you to send and receive messages and make HD phone and video calls over Wi-Fi and mobile networks. You can also share photos, videos, voice messages, links, and stickers.
The new app, which has been re-written from the ground up, offers access to Public Chats, end-to-end encryption, and People app integration.
And that’s not all… The Viber app for Windows 10 also includes support for group messages with up to 200 users, and you can even delete messages you sent in case you screw up in your last text.
Like the mobile app, you get chat information, contact details, and even a padlock icon letting you know the message has been secure.
Viber is a responsive app, which means that it automatically adapts to any screen, including your desktop, laptop, or tablet.
