Windows 10 version 1093 resolved issues

Windows 10 version 1903: Resolved known issues (thus far)

These the known issues that Microsoft already resolved for the Windows 10 May 2019 Update.

Although the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, version 1903, had its number of issues, it’s actually not as buggy as previous versions, which makes it perhaps one of the smoother releases in a long time. In part, it’s because of the new update controls that Microsoft is putting in place to deploy the feature update and block devices that may not be fully compatible.

In addition to the new update controls, Windows 10 now also has a health dashboard website that allows users to track and find solutions for known issues with version 1903.

Also, the dashboard includes information about the problems that have been officially resolved, which means that the company has lifted the upgrade block for affected devices:

  • Loss of functionality in Dynabook Smartphone Link app: After updating to version 1903, you may experience a loss of functionality when using the Dynabook Smartphone Link application.
  • Audio not working with Dolby Atmos headphones and home theater: Users may experience audio loss with Dolby Atmos headphones or Dolby Atmos home theater.
  • Error attempting to update with external USB device or memory card attached: Computers with an external USB device or SD memory card attached may get error: “This PC can’t be upgraded to Windows 10.”
  • Event Viewer may close, or you may receive an error when using Custom Views: When trying to expand, view or create Custom Views in Event Viewer, you may receive an error and the app may stop responding or close.
  • Duplicate folders and documents showing in user profile directory: If known folders (for example, Desktop, Documents, or Pictures folders) are redirected, an empty folder with that same name may be created.
  • Older versions of BattlEye anti-cheat software incompatible: Compatibility issue with some games that use older versions of BattlEye anti-cheat software.
  • AMD RAID driver incompatibility: Installation process may stop when trying to install version 1903 update on computers that run certain versions of AMD RAID drivers.
  • D3D applications and games may fail to enter full-screen mode on rotated displays: Some Direct3D (D3D) applications and games may fail to enter full-screen mode on rotated displays.

If your computer has been affected by any of the problems mentioned above, you should now be able to upgrade manually from the Windows Update settings page.

While Microsoft is actively working and already resolved several issues, there are still a lot of bugs and other problems to be fixed. For example, the company recently acknowledged a problem with Surface Book 2 device where the dGPU may occasionally disappear from device manager. Initiating a Remote Desktop connection may result in black screen. Windows Sandbox may fail to start with error code “0x80070002.” Display brightness may not respond to adjustments, and many more.
