Weekly Digest: Windows 10 21H2, Xbox network, tech tips

In case you missed it, File Explorer gets some overdue modern touches, Windows 10 gets updated, Xbox Live becomes Xbox network, and more tips to get the most out of your PC.

This week on Pureinfotech: Microsoft released a new preview of Windows 10 in the Dev Channel (build 21343) that introduced a new version of File Explorer with new modern icons for folders, drives, and other elements. You can watch this hands-on video highlighting the new updated version of File Explorer, plus other changes, such as tweaks to the Start menu and network settings.

Inside build 21343, Windows 10 also revealed additional changes expected to arrive with version 21H2, including a new power option in the Start menu to restart apps after reboot, third-party driver isolation, and a new separated process for the taskbar.

The software giant also made available previews of the next monthly update of Windows 10 for versions 20H2, 1909, and 1809 that you can install manually through Windows Update or by downloading the standalone installer. Furthermore, the company even released the Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0 for Windows 10 20H2 and 21H1 in the Beta and Release Preview Channels. And Surface Duo, Pro 7 Plus, and Pro 5 received new fixes and improvements with the March 2021 update.

Microsoft also confirmed that it is in the process of rebranding “Xbox Live” to “Xbox network” to distinguish the service from the Xbox Live Gold membership.
