Windows 10 build 19013 (20H1) releases with changes

Microsoft pushes another Windows 10 20H1 preview with Raytracing feature for gaming, new Kaomojis, and improved WSL 2.

UPDATED 11/5: As part of the 20H1 development, Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 19013 for devices in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider Program. This is the preview number 36, and it’s a minor release with small improvements and several fixes.

Windows 10 build 19013, according to the company, the emoji panel includes several new common kaomoji (expression made of characters). In addition, this flight includes an update version of the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 that will not release the memory that is no longer required for the operation of the virtual machine.

If you use the Your Phone app, there’s now an update version that removes the dependency on Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity to use the Phone screen feature. Also, with build 19013, Insiders can now preview new DirectX 12 features, including DirectX Raytracing tier 1.1, Mesh Shader, and Sampler Feedback.

Furthermore, starting with thigh flight, Windows 10 is removing the recently introduced 2-in-1 convertible tablet experience, and it’s unclear when is going to return.

Although there are no ISO files for Windows 10 build 19013, the update is available immediately through the Fast ring. This preview build will download and install automatically on your device, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and clicking the Check for updates button.

Update November 1, 2019: Microsoft is now releasing build 19013.1000 as update KB4528332 for testers. According to the company, this update does not include any changes or fixes.

Update November 5, 2019: The software giant has released build 19013.1102 as KB4528630 update to the Fast ring. This update doesn’t introduce new features, but it includes a fix for the problem with Remote Desktop where DWM would start crashing and the session window would either go totally black, experience black flashes, or after signing out of the remote desktop session.
