Windows 10 build 19564 releases with changes in the Fast ring

Windows 10 gets a new preview in the Fast ring with a bunch of fixes, and here's all you need to know.

Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 19564 for PCs enrolled in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider Program. This is the seventh preview available for testers, and it’s a minor update with changes expected to arrive in future releases of the operating system.

Windows 10 build 19654, according to the company, includes improvements to for the Graphics settings. Starting with this flight, the settings page will pre-populate the apps that you may want to change to run on a specific GPU. Of course, you can always click the Browse button to locate the app.

In addition to the settings changes, build 19654 addresses a bunch of issues with the East Asian and Japanese IMEs, clipboard history, Windows Ink Workspace, and Windows Setup interface when using an ISO.

The update also fixes crashes that may result on a green screen, and issue that could result in a deadlock (where everything would freeze) when using your PC.

Also, this flight addresses Settings banner indicating that an update was in progress when the device is up to date, a problem that causes the Settings app to crash, and you’ll even notice a new OneDrive icon in the Settings header.

Finally, build 19564 fixes an issue where File Explorer wasn’t calculating the correct folder size in Properties when the UNC path was longer than MAX_PATH.

Although there are no ISO files for Windows 10 build 19564, the update is available immediately through the Fast ring. This preview build will download and install automatically on your device, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and clicking the Check for updates button.
