Microsoft pushes Windows 10 Mobile build 10166 to the Fast ring of updates with many tweaks and stability improvements.

Windows 10 Mobile build 10166 rolls out through the Fast ring of updates, Microsoft makes the announcement only a day after releasing Windows 10 build 10166 also to the Fast ring of updates, but for PCs. What’s interesting about is that today both versions of the operating system have the same build number.

The software maker points out that the new release brings a number of “small changes and feature tweaks”, and like in previous builds the major focus is on adding “improvements to the core quality”.

According to the company, the majority of the known issue found on build 10149 have been fixed. In addition, the company confirms that it has fixed the “post-upgrade migration status screen was missing, which made the Lock screen appear frozen without the date and time for up to 10 minutes.” After upgrading to Windows 10 Mobile build 10166, everything should work as expected.

The company continues saying that has also fixed the issue where users were having trouble unlocking their phones after entering a PIN.

Furthermore, colors in apps should render correctly, and build 10166 improves reliability of app download and updates from the Store, which no longer shows as “beta”. Another visual change includes a new and bigger battery icon, which should make it easier for everyone to see.

Finally, the company says that there are a few updated apps waiting to be downloaded from the Store.

Remember that you need to have the Windows Insider app installed and configured to receive new updates via the Fast ring, then simply go to Settings> Update & Security > Phone update to check for build 10166.
