Outside of its regular schedule, Microsoft has recently released update KB4039396 for PCs that are still running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. This new updates addresses two specific issues, and it doesn’t deliver new features or any significant improvement.
KB4039396 bumps the version number to build 14393.1670, and according to Microsoft fixes two issues with Windows Update, including a problem with Update History no listing previously installed updates, and an issue with Windows Update that could cause high processor, memory, and network usage.
What’s new on Windows 10 build 14393.1670
Microsoft has announced KB4039396 in its support site, and it’s referred as “August 28, 2017—KB4039396 (OS Build 14393.1670)”. If you’re already running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on your PC, this update will only address these issues:

Addressed issue where Update History and hidden updates are lost and a full scan for updates happens after installing OS Updates 14393.1532 through 14393.1613, including KB4034658. This update will only address the issue for users who have not yet installed them.

Addressed issue with WSUS update metadata processing that can cause some clients to time out with a 0x8024401c error.
How to download this Windows 10 update
Windows 10 build 14393.1670 (KB4039396) for PCs is available immediately. The new update will download and install automatically, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button.
