This week on tech, Microsoft is reportedly preparing to unveil Windows 9 preview as a “technical preview” on September 30th during a special event. We looked at what actually means “technical preview” for customers and business users.

Skype’s active endpoint rolls out to make buzzing notifications on all your devices more pleasant, by ringing only the one you’re currently using. Surface Pro 3 gets second firmware update, but didn’t make much difference.

New Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Preview update rolls out with bug fixes and improvements. Metro-style version of OneNote gets printing, highlighting, and PDF file integration.

HTC One M8 Windows Phone finally arrives, it’s the same hardware as the Android phone, but this one runs Windows 8.1 Update 1, and it lands exclusively on Verizon.

Xbox One gets exclusive ReddX app, the first official Reddit app for the game console and the big screen. Everything works as if you’re browsing the social network site and you can even view GIF images and YouTube videos.

This week Xbox One also received its August update with new features like a revamped Activity feed, mobile purchase, 3D Blu-ray, low battery indicator, and updated version of SmartGlass for Windows Phone and much more.
