Xbox One December update delivers faster download speeds

Microsoft delivers new Xbox One update that significantly improves download speeds for games and apps.

Microsoft is now rolling out a new update for its Xbox One console bumping the version number to 10.0.14393.2152. In this new update, the company isn’t adding new features, but it’s including a few significant improvements.

According to the company, the new Xbox One update for December brings various optimizations to make game and app download a lot faster.

After installing this update, users with internet connection greater than 100Mbps should experience up to 80% faster download speeds. On the other hand, users with an internet connection that is less than 100Mbps should see download improvements of up to 40% faster.

Xbox One version 10.0.14393.2152 (rs1_xbox_rel_1610 161208-1218) fre also includes background downloads improvements to make it more resilient to intermittent connection problems, and a number of stability and performance improvements.

Finally, there is a new firmware update to improve performance of the Xbox One Wireless Controller, and background music gets updated to improve reliability and consistent experience using different music apps. 

The December update for Xbox One is available immediately to everyone. If you want to check for updates manually, open Settings > All Settings > System > Console info & updates, check the OS version and if it’s not the latest, select Update console.
