Xbox One TV tuner US and Canada

Xbox One Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner now on sale in the U.S. and Canada

North America Xbox One owners can now purchase the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One.

The over-the-air TV tuner by Hauppauge for Xbox One is now available for purchase in the U.S. and Canada. We all knew from the beginning that Xbox One wasn’t just another game console, Microsoft was very clear that it was an all-in-one entertainment device, and back in 2014, the company announced the Digital TV Tuner USB adapter to turn Xbox One into a complete TV set.

However, the tuner was only available in Europe, but about a month ago the company announced that the same TV streaming functionality will be arriving to the U.S. and Canada thanks to a partnership with Hauppauge, and today the over-the-air TV tuner is finally available in North America.

With the adapter, Xbox One owners will be able to watch live over-the-air TV with the ability to pause up to 30 minutes of live TV, users can use Snap TV with other apps, and surf channels using the Kinect sensor. Plus users can broadcast live TV using the local wireless network to Windows 10 devices using the Xbox app, and using the SmartGlass app on iOS and Android.

The Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One can be purchased on Amazon and through the Microsoft Store for $59.99. You will also need a digital antenna and Microsoft recommends the Mohu Leaf 50. If you want to buy both, Microsoft has a deal that includes the Mohu Leaf 50 and the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for only $99.99, but you must hurry as this is a limited time offer.
