  • To disable Copilot in Outlook on Windows 11 or the web, open the Outlook app or web version, click the gear icon (Settings), choose Copilot, uncheck “Turn on Copilot”, and click “Save.” This turns off the AI assistant across Outlook.

On Windows 11, it’s possible to disable the Copilot AI assistant in the Outlook app as well as in the web version of the email service, and in this guide, I’ll show you how to complete this configuration.

Although the AI assistant can help you create summaries, draft emails, and perform other tasks, not many people want to use this feature. As a result, the company added an option to disable Copilot in Outlook, in the same way it’s possible in the other Microsoft 365 apps, such as  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

In this guide, I’ll explain the steps to disable Copilot in the Windows 11 app and web version of Outlook.

  2. Click on Settings (gear button) from the top-right.

If you change your mind, you can always follow the same instructions outlined above to re-enable the feature, but on step 4, make sure to turn on the toggle switch.
