- Windows 11 adds a “Share with Copilot” button to Taskbar app thumbnail previews.
- The feature lets you share apps with Copilot Vision using AI.
- It is available on all devices, not just Copilot+ devices.
- You can fully disable it through Settings and the Copilot app.
On Windows 11, it’s possible to disable the “Share with Copilot” feature available through the Taskbar, and in this guide, I’ll outline the steps to complete this configuration.
The next time you hover over apps in the Taskbar, you’ll notice a new “Share with Copilot” button that allows you to share that application directly with Copilot to start asking questions about it using the Vision feature.
Although this experience is powered by AI, it’s not exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, meaning that Microsoft is rolling it out to everyone since it relies on Copilot, which connects to the cloud for AI.
If this feature isn’t for you, it’s possible remove this button from the app thumbnail preview with a few steps in the Settings and in the Copilot app.
In this guide, I’ll show you the steps to turn off the option to share apps with Copilot from the Taskbar on Windows 11.
Disable Share with Copilot AI feature on Windows 11
To turn off and remove the “Share with Copilot” button from the app thumbnail in the Taskbar, follow these steps:
-

-
Click on Personalization.
-
Click the Taskbar page on the right side.
-
Click the Taskbar behaviors setting.
-
Choose the None option for the “Share any window from the taskbar with” setting.

-
Open the Copilot app.
-

(Optional) Turn off the “Highlights” toggle switch to disable Copilot Vision completely.
Once you complete the steps, the option to share your applications from the Taskbar with Copilot Vision will be completely disabled on Windows 11.
Microsoft is gradually rolling out this feature with the release of the Windows 11 December 2025 Security Update (KB5072033), and it’ll eventually be available to everyone, regardless of whether you have a Copilot+ PC.
