- The Windows 11 build 26220.7535 (KB5072046) adds a new image description feature for Narrator powered by Copilot.
- This update also introduces improvements to existing features, including for Resume, Spotlight, and more.
- Microsoft has noted fixes for the Start menu, File Explorer, Windows Update, and more.
Microsoft has released Windows 11 build 26220.7535 as the update KB5072046 for version 25H2 through the Dev and Beta Channels of the Windows Insider Program. This preview introduces a new image description feature for Narrator using Copilot AI, allows administrators to uninstall the Microsoft Copilot app on managed devices, improves the Resume feature for developers, and updates the Spotlight feature.
In addition, the Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.7535) rolls out fixes for the Start menu, File Explorer, Windows Update, input, and printers.
It’s worth noting that the Beta Channel has been updated from version 24H2 to 25H2, meaning the builds available in the Dev and Beta Channels are now identical. However, starting with the update KB5072046, Microsoft is asking Insiders to switch to the Beta Channel now to continue receiving improvements in this branch. Once the company switches the Dev Channel to a higher build, it won’t be possible to switch without a full reinstallation.
What’s new on Windows 11 KB5072046 for version 25H2
These are the latest changes Microsoft is working on for Windows 11 25H2.
Narrator’s new image description
Although the Windows Narrator feature already includes rich image descriptions using AI for Copilot+ PCs, starting with the release of the Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.7535), it now uses Copilot to generate these descriptions.

In addition, the feature is available for all devices.
You can use the “Narrator key + Ctrl + D” shortcut to describe the focused image or the “Narrator key + Ctrl + S” shortcut to describe the full screen.
Microsoft Copilot App changes
If you’re a network administrator, you can now uninstall the Microsoft Copilot app using the “RemoveMicrosoftCopilotApp” policy.
The policy is available for Windows 11 Enterprise, Pro, and Education. You can also use Group Policy to set the following path: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows AI > Remove Microsoft Copilot App.
Cross Device Resume improvements
In the past, developers needed to integrate the Resume feature using the Link to Windows app. However, now, the company is introducing changes to leverage the Windows Notification System (WNS) instead.
Other fixes and changes
In addition to the new features and improvements, Windows 11 build 26220.7535 ships various fixes, including:
- Spotlight: The feature now includes a new desktop icon to access the feature.
- Start menu: Fixed an issue where the shutdown warning dialog’s edge could be truncated by the Start menu when other users were still signed in.
- File Explorer: Resolved an issue causing explorer.exe to crash when invoking the desktop context menu.
- Input: Fixed an issue that could cause a black flash when using a pen to ink in the Snipping Tool.
- Print: Resolved an issue that could show two print dialogs instead of one, corrected the close‑button color in the print dialog for consistency, and resolved text truncation on the Printers & Scanners Settings page.
- Windows Update: Fixed an issue that could cause the Windows Update settings page to hang while loading.
Microsoft also notes known issues with these updates, including:
- Xbox Full Screen Experience for PC: Some apps may behave unexpectedly when using FSE, especially those that expect fixed window sizes or open additional windows.
- Taskbar: The Start menu may not open on click, apps may fail to appear in the system tray, and the autohide Taskbar may invoke prematurely and block interaction near the bottom of the screen.
- Settings: A new issue is causing Settings to crash when interacting with audio devices.
- Bluetooth: A fix is in progress for an issue preventing Bluetooth device battery levels from displaying.
- Click to Do: The Microsoft 365 Copilot prompt box on selected images may not appear if the Microsoft 365 Copilot app isn’t running.
